Mortgage offers generally last for 6 months, however all lenders are different. You can find your offer expiry date on your offer document or you can ask your broker what this date is. If you get close to this mortgage offer expiry date and you do not have a completion date set, some lenders will allow you to extend this offer. They may ask for your latest documents (payslips, bank statements) to ensure your circumstances haven't changed. They may re credit check to ensure you have not since taken out any large loans etc. that may affect your affordability. We always advise to not take any extra credit whilst you are doing a purchase/remortgage as they could re credit check you and cause your offer to be retracted. Always speak to your mortgage broker before making any changes like this!
Just4Mortgages will always diarize your offer expiry date to ensure that this is not missed and that we take action before its too late.
